Summary

I am coordinating a team of 15 specialists working within Network Operations Center on CORE, VAS, Backbone network domains, for Italy, Albania, Greece and Romania Vodafone markets to ensure optimal conditions for Network Operations activities in a multi-vendor environment. Checking that necessary preventive and corrective first level troubleshooting is in place ensuring quality and continuity of service and the restoring time for different network elements. Building and maintaining procedures related to the analysis of alarms in order to detect and correct faults. Collaborating with planning and delivery teams to ensure that all planned activities are performed according with existing procedures and with minimal impact for customers. Allocating and coordinating resources within VNO projects, ensuring the alignment of processes, analyses, estimates and ensuring the necessary material resources, establishes the priorities, phases and execution deadlines. Performing periodic reports for the internal customers and upper management regarding important events and NOC KPIs. Driving automation and digitalization initiatives.

Lead daily 1st line Operations for Vodafone Italy, Albania, Greece and Romania CORE, VAS, TX & IP Networks in order to detect and solve technical problems in agreed KPI's:

  • Manage a team of 15 engineers.
  • Build strong senior teams by supervising and coordinating the team, setting objectives & goals, giving feedback, coaching and evaluating team performance.
  • Provide recommendations regarding technical and soft skills development of team members.
  • Recruit team members and Induction Program definitions
  • Ensure the correct and timely notification of technical incidents to other work groups from Vodafone.
  • Perform regularly reports for management, regarding important events and NOC KPIs.
  • KPI fulfillment - handle incidents and requests as per the agreed procedures and within the agreed SLAs; provide great service to the market.
  • Operational Silence (ensure a positive working relationship with our stakeholders in terms of escalations).
  • Black Box thinking for major incidents (review every incident and reflect on the incident handling and what can be improved).
  • Understand the percentage of cases handled in the NOC 1st line, without 2nd line support, and think of possible ways on how to improve it.
  • Implement the 1st line Re-organization (2 Layer Organization + multimarket transformation) at cluster level with ideas, inputs and a constructive attitude.
  • Drive continuous improvement of tools and processes and champions automation initiatives.
  • Deliver FTE count as designed by the business context.

  • Support 20% YoY reduction in P0/P1 incidents in EU Networks, International network and central platforms(Roaming, CMS), ensuring that no NOC avoidable incident is caused: 0 wrong handling

  • CIAS involvement on CORE domain: providing support for the Ticket Journey definition, analysis and implementation (demo sessions, documentation, alignments with local market, various analysis) in order to automate different processes
  • Being part as Ticket Journey Analyst in releasing in production the ticketing automation system- OVO CIAS TJ for VF-IT Network and also ensuring that everything works according to the specifications made by testing the environment and raising issues in order to be solved
  • Supporting the digital technology regarding the robotic-process automation (RPA) with several ideas that will be implemented in the future
  • Participating in A4E ( Assurance for Europe ) FOA tests for IT/AL/MT - identifying issues/improvements that can be added
  • Gaining knowledge on 'Agile ways of working' by participating at Agile Foundations workshop - KANBAN & SCRUM and also by following Vodafone University & LinkedIn Learning courses and look for opportunities to integrate these ways of working in our activity
  • Keeping up with the new technologies by gaining knowledge about 5G, following '5G Essentials: 5G News Show' series of courses on Vodafone University and support 5G launch and live network in Italy
  • Gaining knowledge about ITIL guiding principles & practises after achieving the ITIL V4 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.

1st Line Operation IT/AL/GR/MT Core Engineer

  • In collaboration with 2nd Line Operations teams in order to detect and eliminate faults that impacts the network and analyzing the alarms that we encounter
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting of the Vodafone Italy /Albania/ Malta Core Network : CS, PS, TX&IP and VAS, using umbrella fault management systems and specific NMS's
  • Escalating complex technical problems to 2nd Line Operations in order to solve incidents as soon as possible
  • Dispatching field engineers and contractors, in case of incidents that need local support and follow up the issue until it is solved
  • Providing notifications related to network outages to the management team and trigger the Incident Manager to coordinate the activities to solve the outages.
