VOCATIONAL SUMMARY

After completing high school served as a constable and then as a Detective Sergeant (Criminal Investigation Department) in the South African Police force.

After graduating from the University of Natal, Durban, I taught at Glenwood High School in Durban, South Africa and studied further, achieving certificates in Teaching English as a Foreign Language through Inlingua (Cape Town) and then, after relocating to the United Kingdom, through Trinity College (London).

Teaching posts in the UK: Teaching at comprehensive inner city schools (London), TESOL at Collingwoods Language School in Oxford, then St. Augustine’s of Canterbury (Oxford), then Kingham Hill School (Cotswolds).

Taught for 10 years at Somerset College, a prestigious co-ed school, outside Cape Town.

Relocated with my family to Doha,Qatar. Here I completed seven years of teaching at Park House English School and gained knowledge of various cultures. A valuable, enriching experience of teaching, and tutoring, in a truly international environment. My wife was the Senior Librarian here and my son graduated as Deputy Headboy and my daughter as Head of Sport.

Have just completed one year in Bucharest at the Cambridge School of Bucharest where the cohort of students is almost entirely Romanian.
