About the team: CardioMedive is an innovative developer of multi-purpose, low-cost and easy-of-use Hospital@Home proprietary medical device, providing a unique end-to-end platform solution for chronic cardio-pulmonary disease management and continuum care at scale.

Roles and Responsibilities: Product management of all lifecycle of product development from vision, ideation, pain and business needs translation into technical requirements for building, design, develop high innovative patented device, concept and method of multi-role modular medical which allows into a single device, capability usually served by several distinct devices.

Additional responsibilities include managing and leading the team for product development in the mobile, cloud, and web development. I was also responsible for engaging the team in design thinking to develop a more customer-friendly and accessible product.

  • Leading multidisciplinary R&D teams, product spec definitions with clear understanding of all DFX and DFM process required, wide experience with bio-compatible materials, conductive printed ink, skin adhesives, batteries and patient safety overalls.
  • Led and deeply involved into end-to end, clinical-grade, biosensors development from concept to benchtop to product integration – optical, PPG, bio-impedance, vibro-acoustic, thermal and IMU sensors.
  • Designed disposable skin patch for multi-week wearing on patient skin 14-21 days without causing skin injuries, irritation or itching, by selecting medical grade bio-compatibles materials according to ISO 10993. Building and conducting performance test and skin sensitization on patients and selecting the best adhesives and substrate materials.
  • Led and deeply involved into mechanical design.
  • Design innovative optic PPG sensor capable to adjust automatically for different perfusion indexes from different anatomically places like Chest, Arm or Wrist.
  • Design from scratch new PPG sensor for chest location where is known that blood vessels are narrower and deeper.
  • Designing Ultra-low power hardware architecture, achieving outstanding results.
  • Design proprietary efficient file system capable for storing multi-signal types, easy to parse and decode them, but very efficient from memory point of view for staring raw data.
  • Implement all patient safety requirements, software and hardware, skin max current leakage, battery safety, defibrillator protection on electrodes, EMI/EMC etc.

Main challenges were high performance optics to read automatically license plate number from at least 200m day or
    night in the same time to be compact enough to be placed inside car on dashboard.
  • Car electronic mirror with OEM and aftermarket requirements for car manufacturers like Renault, Dacia, Ford, Iveco. Electronic eMirror to replace standard rear-view mirror, based on rear
    camera, display and image sensor processor. Automotive specs product designed to pass all required performance and safety certification and standard.

Roles and responsibilities: Developing and architecting next-generation camera features, integrate and maintain them for the entire life cycle of the product, work with the hardware engineering team to review schematics and support the quality-assurance teams for preparing the test-scenarios. Support mechanical team do design plastic case in accordance with, UI requirements and feedbacks, thermal consideration, mechanical fixturing in the car taking in consideration passenger safety standards of OEM car industry. Perform pre-certification EMI/EMC test, ESD test, vibration and thermal test. Implement EMI debugging techniques with Spectrometer to discover EMI noises on PCB to mitigate them or implement shielding techniques to assure passing of product final certifications or GPS required minimum SNR to work in most weather conditions. Developing tools and fixture for high volume production, automating testing of Bluetooth, WI-FI, GPS with GPS one/multi constellation or channel simulator. Power and Bring-Up hardware prototypes. Implement in house optical lab for video-sensor fine tuning of color, saturation, HDR. Implementing Dewarping and Lens correction models for optical Lens based on lens datasheets. Write and review team code accordingly to MISRA and automotive standards.

Successful Projects:

  • Car dashboard video camera with OEM and aftermarket requirements for big car manufacturers. Developing Dashboard camera for car safety and event trip recording. All device was developed from scratch based on client requirements and main core chosen solution was Ambarella ISP. All research and development done in house, even video sensor color fine tuning, Lens correction and dewarping. One challenge was ultra-low power parking mode required to consume bellow 100uA.
  • Front View Camera, Rear View Camera and 360 cameras for parking assistance. Developing front parking assistance camera integrated with car infotainment system, developed models and simulation for generation of dynamic guided lines for each car customized to car sizes and wheel brake angles. Acted as technical team leader with hands on all parts in projects, delegating tasks and providing feedback.

  • Developing also car intrusion detection system based on radar principle 6Ghz and 24Ghz.
  • Developing OBD reader connected with App via Bluetooth which allows installers to configure some car parameters from mobile app, awarded at CES international al exhibition and highly innovative product.
  • Develop Human voice sintethisator and speaker capable of 120dB sound output for advanced car alarm with pre-recorded voice messages to play them when car is aggressed, similar to Tesla car feature.
