  • I led the restructuring process of the Weber Saint-Gobain brand
  • The challenge was huge because the business had suffered significant losses in 2011, and distributors' trust in the brand was minimal
  • We managed the transformation by acting in three main directions:
  • Restoring employees' brand confidence and ability to provide quality products and services at competitive prices
  • Streamlining operating costs by implementing a World Class Manufacturing program
  • Generating sustainable growth organically by introducing a continuous process of product and service innovation
  • The main achievements of this project were:
  • Increase turnover by 75% in 7 years
  • From -15% operating loss to 7% operating profit
  • Achieving the SILVER level of operational excellence in the World Class Manufacturing program of the Saint-Gobain Group for two of the factories and BRONZE for the third

  • As Managing Director from 2006 to 2011, my principal goal was to introduce the Austrian group Hirsch Servo business in Romania by setting up the subsidiary Hirsch Porozell in Răscruci, Bonțida commune, Cluj county
  • Some of the challenges that have been successfully overcome and the main achievements have been:
  • - Construction of the expanded polystyrene factory in 9 months, during which time we purchased the land, obtained the necessary approvals, completed the construction of the building, and the assembly of the production lines
  • Building a winning mentality team that still operates the business successfully
  • Creating a solid distribution network through sustainable partnerships with building material traders across the country
  • Successful management of the severe economic contraction of 2010 and 2011 through the immediate implementation of cost-effective measures and state aid programs
  • Initiate the first steps to overcome the crisis by diversifying the product portfolio and innovation in sales by introducing additional services
  • Hirsch Porozell is currently the leader in the expanded polystyrene market in Romania, with four factories and an annual production volume of 1 million cubic meters
