Additional Information

I am an aspiring character designer and illustrator with a strong foundation in both traditional and digital art. My artistic journey began with self-taught skills, which were refined through formal schooling and continuous personal practice. I have an intermediate understanding of anatomy, developed through both structured learning and independent study using anatomy books. I also explore new textures, drawing techniques, and coloring methods, constantly striving to expand my skill set.

In my personal projects, I focus on fantasy character design and world-building. One of my major projects is a visual story where I’ve created story panels and character concepts that explore complex narratives. I approach character design by researching various cultures, ensuring respectful representation and drawing inspiration where appropriate. I consider how clothing, body types, and posture reflect a character’s personality, allowing my designs to speak to their story and identity.

I regularly challenge myself by working on illustrative art that pushes my artistic boundaries. For example, my writing projects are meant to test my critical thinking, world-building abilities, and artistic skills as I illustrate them. My creative process also involves experimenting with both traditional media—such as oil painting, acrylics, and pastels—and digital tools like Photoshop, Krita, and Paint Tool SAI.

In terms of traditional art, I have primarily worked with oil paints, focusing on landscape art with occasional human figures. I have also worked with acrylics, though I’ve mainly used oils for personal projects outside of my schooling. In digital art, I’ve transitioned to Photoshop, where I now focus on refining my character designs, digital painting, and concept art.

My knowledge of composition, color theory, and other essential design principles comes from the guidance of experienced art teachers whose lessons I follow on various online platforms. This has allowed me to build a solid understanding of how to apply these principles to my work, despite my intermediate-level experience.

In addition to my personal projects, I have also taken on freelance commissions, creating both digital and traditional art for clients. These commissions have provided me with practical experience in working to specific briefs and honing my ability to meet client expectations. I have also sold non-commissioned paintings, which has helped me build a portfolio of independent work.

Beyond creating my own art, I have spent considerable time studying various visual media to improve my artistic skills. I am an avid player of story-driven video games such as Final Fantasy Rebirth and Final Fantasy IX, Alice: Madness Returns, and The Evil Within, which have influenced my understanding of character design, environment design, and narrative. I am also a fan of comics and manga, including series like Naruto, Kaze to Ki no Uta, The Alien series, Batman, Teen Titans, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Inuyasha. These stories have helped shape my understanding of character archetypes and design, further fueling my passion for creating unique and engaging characters.

I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Paul Gauguin, Raphael Sanzio, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, El Greco, H.R. Giger, Richard W. Sprang, George Pérez, Masashi Kishimoto, Tetsuya Nomura, Daisuke Ishiwatari, Keiko Takemiya, and Rumiko Takahashi. Their work has influenced my approach to composition, character design, and storytelling.

I am eager to bring my skills, passion, and unique perspective to an art team that values creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. I am particularly excited about opportunities in character design and concept art, where I can contribute my artistic abilities, grow professionally, and collaborate with like-minded individuals in the creative industry.
