Biography:
Dr. Razvan Miftode has been a family doctor since 1995, when he completed his vocational training and became a specialist in general medicine. Five years later, he became a senior family physician and he is currently working as family doctor in Iasi, Romania. In 2000, he graduated from the Teacher of Teachers (TOT) programme organised by the Romanian Ministry of Health and the Netherland School of Public Health in Bucharest, Romania, becoming a trainer in family medicine. Since then, he has been lecturer in several courses and training workshops for physicians in national Continuing Medical Education programs. Since 2007, he is the national representative in the EURACT Council. Dr. Razvan Miftode has been involved in various professional activities at European level, such as the Primary Health Care Activity Monitor for Europe (PHAMEU) study “Building primary care in a changing Europe” at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the WONCA Europe (2009 - 2010), EURACT project “Family Medicine Performance Agenda” (2008 - 2010). At the national level he has been involved in projects with the focus on continuing professional development and education (focus on bronchial asthma, neurocognitive dysfunctions, maternal health, sexually transmitted infections, etc.), quality assessment and audit of health services in primary care (2006-2008, 2012) and training of trainers in Family Medicine (2012, 2022). He has written articles in various medical journals/periodicals and has contributed to several volumes of Public Health and Social Work as well as to the newest Handbook of Family Medicine, published in Iasi, Romania, in 2022. Since 2018, he is vice president of the Romanian National Society of Family Medicine and coordinator of the professional department and working groups. Since 2020, he is the deputy editor-in-chief of the Romanian Journal of General Medicine, Medic.ro.
