Summary

Throughout my formative years, I have struggled to push myself to do new things and learn about different subjects.

I have come in contact with many companies and most recently worked with Rolls-Royce to digitalize the heat-treatment modelling inside their jet-engine manufacturing branch.

I have experience in 3D printing, having optimized the printing and polymerization behavior of an ivory-replacement composite material.

On the manufacturing side of things, I have worked in optimizing and overseeing PVC, aluminum and glass production lines. Knowledge-based maintenance methods as well as the the Six-Sigma methodology are a few examples of the abilities I have gained through practical work.

All of the above, combined with good knowledge of finance and economics provide a very solid, as well as diverse, engineering background.

Research & Development Manager

Optimedia is one of Europe's largest double and triple glazed windows and doors producer, specializing in PVC and Aluminum production. At the same time, it is a large producer of aluminum facades and curtain walls. Some of my activities can be seen bellow:

  • Worked in the maintenance of multiple production lines ranging from PVC and aluminum to glass production.
  • Helped install production robots and assisted suppliers in their maintenance.
  • Optimized a glazed window manufacturing line using the Six-Sigma methodology, increasing its output and lowering its operating costs.
  • Oversaw and improved the quality control systems across various departments.
  • Active involvement in the planning and implementation of an automatic storage system facility.
  • Participated in management meetings in order to assess and set the companies long term objectives.
  • Helped in arranging the participation at international expos in countries like France, Italy, the USA and Japan.
  • Planned and helped implement the production flow of the company's aluminum factory.

I have recently completed my masters (MSc(Eng)) in Aerospace Materials at the University of Sheffield, graduating with Distinction and the 'Best Overall Performance' Award.

My masters project, in partnership with Rolls-Royce, was focused on digitalizing heat treatments for Nickel-based superalloy components.

  • As a result, I created an application for engineers within Rolls-Royce that allows various branches of the company to easily model heat treatments and predict the end material's microstructure and behavior.
  • Since the model is used at a company-wide level, I tailored the application to the needs of individual sectors, thus increasing its Technology Readiness Level from 6 to 7 within Rolls-Royce.

Besides the dissertation, my masters degree has focused on manufacturing and assembly methods in the case of light alloys. Aluminum manufacturing and treatment options have been a notable focal point in my studies.


The mark average of my masters degree is the highest in my cohort at 83.4/100 (US-Cumulative GPA 4.0).

I graduated from the Technical University of Vienna in 2021, obtaining a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Economics.

  • My Bachelor Thesis was written in collaboration with Cubicure Gmbh, and focused on optimizing the polymerization behavior of a composite, ivory-like material during 3D printing.
  • My findings helped describe the chemical composition that will result in the best end-product properties and CAD model fidelity.
  • The optimized material will help museums restore historical pieces in an environmentally friendly and economically viable way.
  • Experimentally, I used a variety of different analysis techniques, ranging from digital microscopy to mathematical modelling. At the same time, I assessed different 3D printing techniques to determine the optimal printing method.

Throughout my bachelor studies, I took great interest in expanding my knowledge of workflow planning and facility management. I enrolled in additional courses on SAP and other ERP systems as well as Organization Theory.

Accomplishments

As a result of my work for Rolls-Royce, I was invited to present my project in a company-wide internal seminar called HighSpots. The monthly seminar is attended by Rolls-Royce engineers from England, Germany and America and is intended to present the newest and most relevant evolutions in Rolls-Royce's Intellectual Property.

  • During my presentation, the overarching goals of my project as well as a user tutorial were presented. It was later uploaded to Roll-Royce's intranet so that all engineers can use it as a user-guide to the application I created.

Additionally, part of my work was presented by my supervisor, Dr. Magnus J Anderson, as part of his presentation within the Third International Conference on Material Science and Engineering in April 2022.


Upon completing all my postgraduate exams, I achieved the highest mark average in my University's Material Science and Engineering postgraduate cohort (83.4/100-UK or US Cumulative GPA:4.0). My grades are well above the UK distinction level and are a staple of hard working and dedication.

Attesting this claim is the 'Best Overall Performance' award that I received upon my graduation.


On the 8th of February 2023, I once again presented my research with regards to digitalization and software integration within ThermoCalc's official Worldwide Webinar.
