Innovative Machine Learning Engineer that excels in neural networks, data augmentation, reinforcement learning and LLMs.
Back in 2012, I defended my PhD in artificial intelligence at "Politehnica" University of Bucharest with a thesis on neural network algorithm applied to computer vision and remote sensing. In 2009, I finished B.Eng. + M.Eng. in image analysis and artificial intelligence specialization. I have 6+ years of university experience and 7+ years recent industry experience with machine learning (ML). I'm author and coauthor of over 15 scientific papers in the field of machine learning (applied to computer vision, remote sensing, financial data analysis, time-series). In the past 3 years, i started to move my focus from deterministic AI into generative AI field. Recently, 3 patent ideas were accepted for further patenting process and i co-authored a research paper that was submited to a journal. Going more in the past, I won prizes at 3 different ML hackathons: including 2NHack 2020, 3rd place. Currently, i work as machine learning engineer for Porsche Engineering and i'm based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
